  9. 0) What's New in this version
  10.  
  11.    This version has been enhanced from 1.04; changes added are:
  12.  
  13.      1) set MIC 20dB Gain default to OFF in SOUND16.CFG file
  14.      2) add IRQ 2/9 selection for Sound Blaster mode
  15.      3) Modified MC10 to disable Delay Interrupt
  16.      4) Windows drivers: Modified to perserve XCTLn bits in PCR 
  17.         register
  18.      5) Windows applications: add a demo application for Wave Audio 
  19.         playback and recording.

  21.    NOTE:
  22.    This version does not include third party Windows Application. 
  23.    Therefore, DISK #2 should be ignored. Copy contents under \disk1 
  24.    to a single diskette and start installation.

  26. 1) Introduction
  27.  
  28.    This package contains the above version of Software release for 
  29.    OPTi 82C930 Audio Device. This software contains a full fledge 
  30.    INSTALLER plus Testing and Configuration program all contained 
  31.    within a Windows Look-a-Like GUI.
  32.  
  33.    What the INSTALLER will do for you:
  34.    a) Gather installation info. from you as to which drive and directory
  35.       this software should be installed.
  36.    b) Check available memory and disk space (warns if not sufficient).
  37.    c) Gather and detect correct Windows directory.
  38.    d) Copies files to your hard disk.
  39.    e) Prompts you if you have a CD-ROM attached to your MAD16 Pro.
  40.       If Yes: - Asks you for the CD-ROM type you have.
  41.               - Assigns the correct CD-ROM driver for your drive.
  42.           - Checks and installs correct MSCDEX.EXE to work with your
  43.             drive depending on DOS version.
  44.    f) Shows Configuration and Test panel for you to setup and test your
  45.       Sound Card. You may perform 8-bit, 16-bit, and FM Synthesis test.
  46.       You may also change your volume settings.
  47.    g) After the above, INSTALLER will update your system files and give
  48.       you an option to reboot your system.

  50.    What the Testing and Configuration (SNDINIT.EXE) will do for you:
  51.    a) Allow you to test and/or configure/reconfigure your
  52.       - existing hardware settings;
  53.       - existing CD-ROM settings in which CONFIG.SYS and AUTOEXEC.BAT will
  54.         be updated and you will be prompted to reboot your system.
  55.       - and perform sound tests and volume changes.

  90. 3) How to create Install Diskettes from 930V104.ZIP
  91.  
  92.    . unZIP the 930V105.ZIP file into a temp. dir in hard Drive
  93.        use: pkunzip -d 930V105.zip to unzip
  94.    . take out README.1st and PKZIP.exe
  95.    . copy all the files in subdir 'DISK1' and 'DISK2' into 2 
  96.      diskettes to mark as "1 of 2" and " 2 of 2"
  97.    . use them as INSTALL diskettes

  99.    To Run the INSTALLER
